to the Confederation of Professional Investigators UK (COPI UK)
an amalgamation of long standing respected Core Stakeholder Groups within the Private Investigation industry, whose members are professionals of repute known for their compliant, ethical best business practices. The collective longevity of the Confederation’s Stakeholders is over 100 years, which means clients can relax in the knowledge that their confidential affairs will be in safe hands.
We welcome industry trade groups to join COPI UK who’s collective voice is aimed at protecting the interests of UK Professional investigators, in particular to ensure that any future regulation is independent, appropriate, fair for all, safeguards individual investigators/clients, and is not monopolised by a single trade entity.

As professional investigators of repute the Confederation of Professional Investigators UK Stakeholders have in place voluntary Codes of Conduct that their members abide by however, in the future should official regulation prevail then the Confederation will have a collective voice to ensure that industry practitioners will not be disadvantaged in any way by unfair or profiteering practices.
Our Mission, Aims and Objectives
To encourage the collaboration of industry organisations (with individual members) the purpose being to demonstrate evidence of qualified, compliant business practices that are provided by COPI UK’s Core Stakeholders who are signatories to a voluntary Code of Conduct.

To act as a conduit between the industry and government/regulatory
bodies, and to make them aware of the Confederation’s willingness to support official regulation either on a voluntary or statutory basis.
To monitor industry activity, in particular news of intended regulation from any quarter, and to ensure that the interests of all COPI UK Stakeholders are protected, and not subjected to unfair or profiteering practices.

To operate the Confederation with transparency and due consideration to Core Stakeholders and their own memberships, on a non-
To supply free membership to Core Stakeholders supported by workshops, training courses and business support as and when required.


Confederation membership will comprise of industry trade groups representing individual members.
Core Stakeholder Groups when joining the Confederation will be asked to sign a voluntary Code of Conduct as published.


The Confederation will not in any way interfere with the business operations of any of the Core Stakeholders.
To publicise the existence of COPI UK, its aims and objectives, and its Core Stakeholder groups collective mission for the private professional investigation industry.
