NEW STAKEHOLDER JOINS COPI UK
2025 gets off to a positive start for COPI UK, with a fifth stakeholder joining the Confederation. Palatine (R&D Group Ltd) with its UK wide professional investigator subscribing members will further strengthen and promote our stated aims and objectives.

We are delighted to announce that Richard Newman, BA(Hons), C.I.P.I., Member I.P.S.A. will be joining COPI UK as a Special Advisor. With his vast experience and knowledge Richard will be invaluable in assisting COPI to achieve its stated aims and objectives, and for the betterment of a fair and collaborative Professional Investigation industry.

STATEMENT OF ASSURANCE
Following the recent announcement that the ICO have issued a UK GDPR Code of Conduct to the Association of British Investigators (ABI). We respectfully inform all professional Investigators within our stakeholders, also elsewhere, that we have been monitoring the various concerns that have been raised, and in accordance with the aims of COPI UK we are in contact with the relevant authorities to ensure that the interests of industry Investigators as a whole are protected and not subjected to any form of discrimination. Please be assured that COPI UK is here for you and can be relied upon to act as a voice for professional Investigators no matter what their affiliations. It is also worth mentioning that the ICO Code is only representative of one aspect of our sector’s work, and the focus and aims of COPI UK are much more holistic around the compliance of Investigators in areas of their conduct.

The Confederation of Professional Investigators UK has launched – COPI UK for short. The founders are the Institute of Professional Investigators (IPI), the World Association of Professional Investigators (WAPI) and the United Kingdom Private Investigators Network (UKPIN).

The associations point to an agreed code of ethics protecting clients, the public, and investigators alike. Membership of the Confederation is open to all Industry trade groups and carries no membership fees or administration charges. Last year WAPI, IPI and UKPIN jointly signed a consolidated voluntary Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct across their Memberships, which will also be an entry requirement for COPI UK.
The autonomy of each of the associations will be unaffected by their involvement in COPI UK they add. Individuals cannot become members of COPI UK, only representative bodies.”
